Throughout our journey of dance, we've come to see the beauty in all movement. Our Choreography class celebrates the many unique styles of dance that exist, exploring something new every week!

From locking, popping, waacking, and house to jazz and contemporary we are open to it all! With a different vibe for each class, there is one thing you can be certain of - you will learn a choreographed routine that will give you a better understanding and feel of the dance!

Popping

A street dance based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body, referred to as a pop or a hit. This is done continuously to the rhythm of a song in combination with various movements and poses.

House

A social dance that is often improvisational in nature and emphasizes fast and complex foot oriented steps combined with fluid movements in the torso. The main elements of House dance include Footwork,Jacking, and Lofting.

Hip Hop Choreo

Hip-hop dance refers to dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music. It includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping.

Urban Jazz

A fusion dance style influenced by dance styles such as ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop.

Waacking

A feminine hip hop dance style known for fast hand and arm movements. Becoming popular in the 70’s, Waacking is done to music with driving rhythms and hard beats.

What people say

I have several students who have taken Hip Hop classes from Chase. All of these students come away feeling more confident, excited about exercise and even more focused on their academics. As we know schools are focusing on making healthy choices and how to live right. This Hip Hop class is an excellent tool to encourage this type of lifestyle for students of all ages. The class would be a vital tool and resource to encourage students to living healthier lives.
